ISI agent nabbed in Amritsar, booked onder OSA: Police  5 Days ago

NEW DELHI: Acting on a tip-off by a J&K based military intelligence unit, the State Special Operations Cell of Amritsar Police has busted an espionage ring and arrested an alleged ISI agent.
The suspect has been identified as Ram Kumar, police said.

The MI had received inputs that the individual was in touch with some officials from the ISI and had been passing sensitive military information over WhatsApp to his handler in Pakistan in lieu of money.

The individual was arrested under the Official Secrets Act and criminal conspiracy and two of his mobile phones and four sim cards were seized for forensic analysis.

During detailed questioning of the individual and examination of his phone, it was revealed that he the ISI handler had tasked him to provide information of Indian Army units located along Indo-Pak border and even movement of Army elements in the vicinity.

The individual confessed to having passed sensitive military information to his Pakistani handler over WhatsApp in lieu of money.

Apart from providing information the individual had provided Indian mobile numbers to ISI officials, thereby facilitating them in carrying out inimical activities within the country. The accused will be produced in the court today.
