Filled with joyful music, some regard Evensong as one of the most beautiful and prayerful liturgies in the Anglican tradition, especially as celebrated in cathedrals.
Evensong is livestreamed during the academic year, except during school holidays.
Advance registration is recommended. For those not preregistered, names and emails will be collected at the door for contact tracing. Masks must be worn and social distancing protocols followed.
Proof of full vaccination is required. To expedite your check in process visit gracecathedral.org/vax to upload your vaccination verification and receive quicker entry with our Grace Pass. You will receive your Grace Pass within 24 hours if you submit between Sunday -Thursday.
Evensong expands the daily Evening Prayer service prayed by Episcopalians and Anglicans all over the world, with music by the cathedral choir. Combining elements from both Evening Prayer and Compline (Night Prayer), Evensong includes chants and anthems by the choir, readings from scripture, hymns sung by the congregation, and prayers for the church, the local community, and the wider world.
During the academic year, our boy choristers sing at Thursday Evensong along with the men of the cathedral choir. When school is not in session, Evensong is sung by the men of the Choir.
